  Sardinia (Italy)
The island of Sardinia boasts the world’s highest concentration of centenarian men. The habitants of the Ogliastra region consume a low-protein diet associated with lower rates of diabetes, cancer, and death for people under age 65. Sheep herders, who tend to walk at least five miles a day, and have strong family and community connections, live even longer than most in this area.

This particular region has also been blessed with the M26 (longevity gene) which has been passed down through generations in this secluded community.
